“It is especially fitting that we take the time to reflect on one man’s struggles to defend our Constitutional freedoms during this primary election season. January 15 was the birthday of the great freedom fighter, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and on Monday, we honor him nationwide for his sacrifice and love of liberty for all people. “To me, the timing is more than a coincidence. The American people, regardless of color or creed, have the opportunity to choose a candidate who will uplift the ideals for which Dr. King fought—and died. |

Those of us who have already awakened to a sense of our awful situation typically feel a similar urge to be actively involved in doing something about it. It's not enough just to learn about the principles of freedom and the US Constitution and recognize that we have strayed far from those principles. This fight for freedom is not a new one; it has been going on for thousands of years. This battle is a continuation of the war that began in heaven between good and evil. Ezra Taft Benson is just one of many prophets that have urged the Latter-day Saints to play an active role in protecting our freedom. In one of his speeches, Ezra Taft Benson outlined some things that each of us can do (below is a summary): |

Romney vs. Paul by Marnie L. Pehrson When a fellow LDS friend learned I'm supporting Ron Paul, she asked me what I think of Mitt Romney. Here's my reply to her and anyone else who might be curious. Romney might be better than some candidates we’ve had to choose from in the past, but Ron Paul is so head and shoulders above the rest in actually voting for and standing by the Constitution that everyone else pales in comparison. |
